Tarte Cosmetics has come out with their third Tartelette palette! Say hello to the Tartelette Toasted Palette! A huge thank you to my friend Shanelle for gifting me this palette for my birthday! I've been wanting to get my hands on this since the moment it came out! So, let's take a look at it! Click the Read More Tab for the full review!
The palette comes with twelve shades. It has seven mattes and five shimmers all together. The net weight is 1.5 grams with it being 0.053 oz per shadow. The palette retails for $46. This is the definition of a warm palette. While a lot may say we don't need another warm toned palette, I can NEVER get enough! The shades have names that are fitting for the name of the palette such as: S'more, Sunrise, Sunset, Crackle, Cashmere, Warmth, Flame, Cozy, Candle, Latte, Simmer, and Fireside. Let's go through them and break them down.
S'more: A pinky beige that is super pigmented. With one swipe I got enough pigment to cover my tattoo or skin color completely. I love to use this to set my eye primer and it works perfectly. You can also use it as a lid color, brow bone color, or inner corner highlight for a matte look. It's also very creamy.
Sunrise: A golden beige that works in the same way as S'more only it has a more gold tone than pink. I also found it to be a little bit less pigmented but creamy and soft as well. It also had a slight sheen to me on the skin unlike S'more which is a flat matte.
Sunset: This is a straight bronze shade. Perfect for the name. It comes off more dry than some of the other colors but the pigment is amazing.
Crackle: This is a gorgeous brown with gold flecks and when they say gold flecks, they mean it! This shade is really dry but holy PIGMENTED! The second you touch it in the pan, the gold flecks explode! They also stay on the shadow but some do tend to fall off. This is a shade you may have some fall out with but with the flecks, its to be expected. It is still one of my favorite shades because it stands out and is quite beautiful. Sometimes, the glitter can completely fall out of the shadow once applied and that does not happen with this shadow.
Cashmere: A pale peach that for lighter skin tones, can make the perfect transition color. I absolutely LOVE this color and use it every time I use the palette. It is so soft and creamy and pigmented. It blends like a dream on the eye!
Warmth: A gorgeous terracotta that can be great for many things! Its crazy pigmented and soft and creamy like Cashmere.
Flame: My favorite shade out of the palette! A metallic rust that is so pigmented and creamy and almost feels wet to the touch. There is no fall out or dryness here at all. That swatch shown in the picture above was one swipe!
Cozy: This is a straight matte brick color. This is a bit more on the dry side of the shades but so pigmented. It has serious staying power on the eye and blended out really nicely!
Candle: A Champagne shimmer that looks gorgeous swatched. This shade is a bit harder to work with but can come out gorgeous if you get it right. It has a wet feeling to it like Flame, but it crumples and with a brush, its hard to pick up any color. It would probably be best used with a finger which can be frustrating, but makes a gorgeous brow highlight.
Latte: This is a matte tan. Its great for a transition or crease color! Another crazy pigmented and soft shade. No complaints here!
Simmer: A shimmery copper. This is a lighter pigment than flame or sunset, but just as beautiful! It glides on with no fall out and stays on for a long time!
Fireside: A matte deep plum. This shade is super dry and can cause some fall out. It also can be patchy if you don't work the color up on the eye. If you work it up, it comes out perfect with no patchiness and looks great on the outter V of the eye.
I love a good warm palette so I can not complain there. I think a few of the shades could of been reformulated like Candle and Fireside, but the rest of the shades are amazing! So creamy and pigmented and the whole palette has serious staying power on the eyes! If you are someone who looks at the palette and thinks you can't make multiple looks, look again! I thought the same until I held it in my hand. You can make so many warm toned looks with this palette and the colors are just different enough to do so without getting overwhelmed. The packaging literally kills me. It is by far my favorite packaging from the Tartelette line. I over all think the Tartelette palettes should be a bit cheaper than $46, but this palette follows suit with the other two which is normal. Overall, I think if you like warm toned palettes or are looking for the perfect one, this may be your match! I am completely pleased with this palette and will use it with most every look I do. Way to go Tarte!
