We have all been there. You love a makeup product and use it for a while and for whatever reason, you start second guessing if it is really THAT good. Sometimes, we get new products that blow them out of the water or we just realize they were never as good as we thought. After a while, some products just go bad. I want to talk about five products that I liked the first couple of times I tried and ones I've used for a while that just stopped working for me. Click the Read More for the rest of the article. Laura Geller GlamLASH Dramatic Volumizing Mascara- $24 I absolutely love Laura Geller. I met her in person at Generation Beauty in NYC and she has to be one of the most kind and humble person I have met in that industry. However, I tried this mascara that came in a set at the time and I love it....at first. After a while, I started second guessing it. I have drugstore mascaras that work better than this one and this one is $24. It is suppose to be volumizing and it just doesn't reach that mark for me. It is really dark and that's something I loved about it but my lashes still stuck straight out. Let me be fair and say that mascaras are completely subjective as the same mascara will work completely different for each individual. It was just something that I thought I loved until I realize I could find better for much cheaper. Mascara-go.magik.ly/ml/5c5h/ Catrice Prime and Fine Mattifying Waterproof Transparent Powder- $7.49 When I first got this powder, I was thrilled! It set my foundations really nicely and my face felt smooth. As time went on, I started realizing this powder was not my friend. I honestly think it should be labeled "water resistant" not water proof as that claim does not hold true. I have oily skin and my oils seep right through this. Also, during the summer, this does not keep you matte. The transparent claim also fell for me. As a YouTuber, this has horrible flash back in pictures. It also changes and lightens your foundation color. Its basically chalk white, not transparent and I always just thought my foundation colors were too light. I was always going off the softness and how it first set my face and with that, I loved it! I have to be honest though, the Rimmel Stay Matte which is cheaper, is much better and turns me off from this powder. Prime and Fine: go.magik.ly/ml/35kp/ Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer- $9.99 This foundation had a rocky start for me, then I loved it, and now I hate it. I'm pretty sure this was trying to be a dupe for the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Concealer+Foundation. They fell short....very short. The foundation lines shades are very dark and yellow. I got the second to lightest shade and it is so yellow and dark on me, I was shocked. It oxidized quite quickly on my skin. They have about 9 different shades on Ulta's site and that's pretty horrible for a shade range in foundations. It also claims to be sweat proof, long lasting, and water resistant. I am not sure how since it never set for me or dried down. I looked so oily the whole time I wore this and had to set it with a ton of powder. The coverage was nice however and with a ton of powder, I found myself liking it. Until I realized it was way too much work and my face just did not look as good as it does with other foundations. With so many awesome drugstore foundations out there, you have to be true to your claims at least to wow me. Foundation: go.magik.ly/ml/7r95/ Found BB Cream- $11.88 Even though it's a bit more expensive than other drugstore foundations, I initially liked this for the natural ingredients. Its 98% natural and made with Blackberry Extract. It is suppose to even out skin tone, help with redness, absorb oils, and maintain moisture on the face. This one ended up being a complete dud. However, I do like using it for another purpose. The smell of this really turned me off. I know its a natural product so, that is a given. However, this smelled like cheap play-doh to me. It also fell into every fine line and wrinkle I have on my face. When I went to apply it, it moved around my face instead of sinking in and took a lot of rubbing to get it where i needed it to be. Once I got it there, it provided little to no coverage what so ever. It did not help with the redness on my cheeks and left a tacky feeling that never went away. So, I started using it as a primer to my foundations and really like it. I just don't like having to work that hard or completely change what the product is meant to be to use it. BB Cream- go.magik.ly/ml/7r97/ Milani Retouch + Erase Concealer- $7.97 This concealer I wanted to love right away and really thought I would. I love the Maybelline concealer with the cushion on top of it so, I thought this would be the same type of thing. This is another product I didn't like at first, then liked it, and now hate. The cushion is very small which I thought would be better, but its also extremely hard. It just pushes the product around and causes streaks when applying it. The directions tell you to blend with the cushion, but with it being so hard that just does not work. The coverage also fell short for me. I found myself using another concealer on top of this one and just one day asked myself what the hell I was doing. I should only need one. It does have a nice brightening effect if you go a shade lighter, but that's about it. It also fell into the creases under my eyes really badly. Concealer-go.magik.ly/ml/7r99/ So, those are five items I used to love and now just do not work for me. They all have something about them that I like, but I have found other products that aren't as hard to work with and most with a better price. Leave me a comment and let me know what fell short for you that you used to like!

It always happen to me, sometimes I just stop using that particular product, and when I use it again, I'm like " damn this is garbage", lol. And it's worst we you used to think it was holly grail one, you can stop recommending it, and then you hit a wall and see that it wasn't that great, lol.

Good pints, I have run into makeup that just doesn't work as my skin has aged. All powder foundation and mineral veil were my go to for my face. No anymore, I am too dry!

I have recently found that I have to very carefull with foundations that are marketed as high/full coverage as although I like full coverage because of my scarred uneven skin from acne when I was younger and I still get the occasional spot. I need a fuller coverage foundation but they can look very cakey, patchy or have a very fake powdery look now that I am older and also have fine lines as well. I have been testing out lighter foundations which appear to look good but then don't have enough coverage so I then use a setting powder or powder foundation on top which I don't really want to do as that's an extra step on top which can also make my face look cakey. I just find it difficult to get the right balance of just enough coverage but without looking bad. 😋
