I've been hearing a lot about the Glam Glow Mud Mask around YouTube. I've seen a lot of videos on how great this product is. I was recently sent a sample of the mask and wanted to review it for you all. The one I tested out was the black tube, YouthMud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment. I tried this out this morning so I could remember everything I felt about it correctly and fresh in my mind. So, let's get right into this review!
Price: $69.00 for 1.7 fl oz.
If I look worried in this picture, it's because I am!! Haha! The mud has a nice smell but has the same consistency as actually mud. Its watering at first and then really thick and grainy. It also has chunks of things in it (as you can see in the picture). It does dry pretty quickly which is a refreshing change from some other masks that take a long time to dry. The more it dries, the more you get a warm tingling sensation on your skin. At one point, it can be a little overwhelming, especially for people with sensitive skin or eyes. The tingling sensation (which is more of a burning sensation) does stop rather quickly though. At that point, my mask was completely dry and the tingling stopped, so I went to go remove it.
The directions say to rub it off in circular motions with water when removing the mask. This is because the mask has an exfoliater in it that is activated by water. When I did this, I used a wash cloth and got it super soaked and rub it lightly in circular motions on my face. The exfoliates are pretty harsh. It really hurt towards the end. Around my nose and my forehead still have red marks on them. I ended up splashing water on my face trying to get the rest of the exfoliates off and still ended up with what felt like sand around my face. They brushed off easily after my face was dry though.
My face did feel really soft and smooth after. My only thing is, it feels soft and smooth after using a $5.00 mask as well!
While the mud mask is nice and does work. For me, it held nothing special enough for the price tag it holds. I've used other masks (without chunks of crap in them) that have made my face feel just as good and worked just as well for $60 less. I would use any sample I got from them because it DOES work, but I would NOT buy the full size.
I hope this helped you! Feel free to share your experience with a Glam Glow mask! Leave me a comment!! Xoxo
